6 Month Update: baby got teeth

Little Love turned 6 months and I cannot believe half a year has gone by. I feel like I was just pregnant. I’m not sure where the time went, but I am sure of one thing: teething sucks.

This topic is the reason I started this series. I had always known C-sections were supposed to be extremely difficult to recover from, but I never knew what that entailed. I think I expected it to be hard for a few days and then magically back to “normal.” I’ve never had another surgery prior to the C-section, so I wasn’t entirely sure how my body would react. Typically, I react very strongly (and painfully) to most procedures and medication. That should’ve been my hint right there.

As with probably 99.9% of women, actually getting the baby out of me was the scariest part of the whole process. It felt good to be at the end but it was a terrifying realization that this baby had to get out of me one way or another and the options all seemed like the worst pain ever. I knew of the impending pain whether it’d be in the moment with some pain afterward (vaginal birth) or virtually no pain during and an immense amount of pain afterward (C-section) but there were other things I wish I’d known, specifically for an induction and C-section.

Surviving (the stigma of) A C-Section

1 induction, 26 hours of labor and 1 c-section later, and I have a son.
